Developmental ScreeningThe Kingdom Kare Learning Center. utilize the Ages & Stages Questionnaire, a developmental screening tool to assess children’s skills in different developmental areas. Each child is screened twice a year to monitor developmental progress. If concerns are noted, teachers will refer children for further diagnostics through special education. Parents are notified for referrals for special education evaluation, and signed parental consent is required.

The Kingdom Kare Learning Center utilizes High Scope child assessment tool known as the Child Observation Record (COR). The Preschool COR is an observation-based instrument providing systematic assessment of young children’s knowledge and abilities in all areas of development. Teachers will complete COR twice a year for each child. This information will be shared with parents at two conferences, one in the fall and the other at the end of the year.

Family SupportThe Kingdom Kare Learning Center has a Family Resource and Support Associate, who spends time in classrooms once a week and is available by phone or email throughout the week. She is aware of many community resources and works with families in need to connect them to these resources. She also coordinates a Parent Advisory Committee and helps organize family events and classroom visitors
